Kitemaking at Ysleta

Kitemaking was first developed 2800 years ago in China but on August 22, 2012 a roomful of kids and parents all learned how easy it is to make and fly a kite. There were 3 different designs that were shown, including an easy preschool kite for the small kids, a butterfly kite and a miniature kite. Afterwards they went outside to try out their makings in the wind. The kids and parents all had a great time. Look for another kitemaking class coming this March when the windy season returns.

CREEPY CRAWLY STORY TIME!

Do you like bugs?  Do you like stories?  Do you like bugs, and stories, and crafts?  If so, join us here at the Sergio Troncoso Public Library for a very special creepy-crawly story time presented by the El Paso Zoo ! Like all library story times, this event is free and open to the public!  On Wednesday, October 9 at 2 pm here at the Sergio Troncoso Public Library, there will be  BUGS! Author visit - Sergio Troncoso!

Join us this  Tuesday ,  November 5th  at  5 pm , as we welcome author and educator Sergio Troncoso at the Sergio Troncoso Branch Library . In 2014, the El Paso City Council voted unanimously to rename the Ysleta Branch Public Library in honor of Sergio Troncoso.  Now you can visit with Mr. Troncoso as he reads from his latest book A Peculiar Kind of Immigrant's Son .
