Fairy/Elf House

On Wednesday July 3, 2013 Ysleta Branch Library presented a fun craft workshop for all ages. As part of the Summer Reading Club special event, 120 patrons used their imagination to build a Fairy/Elf house. The houses were made entirely out of natural materials such as rocks, moss, acorns, tree branches, sand, pebbles and sea glass.

Scrapbooking

On June 27, 2013 branch manager Aimee Camp gave a lesson on scrapbooking. This session was part of the SRC programming held for the patrons of the Ysleta Branch Library.  They put together various colored mini photo albums that were beautifully decorated to each ones liking. Originality!

Randy Collins visits YS

On June 26, 2013, Ysleta Branch Library and the Summer Reading Club presented magician Randy Collins. Randy is a favorite with the patrons of the library, engaging the audience with his magic and entertainment.

Dinosaur Dig

The Ysleta Branch Library was pleased to continue with the SRC programs with the special event, Dinosaur Dig. On Wednesday June 19, 2013, Ysleta staff member, Martha Bocanegra, presented parents and children with this interesting subject, Dinosaurs! There was quite a turnout with 160 patrons in attendance for this well-liked topic. Various fossils of ammonites, trilobites and even fossilized dino poop were passed around for viewing.  Also a paper model of an ancient 8 ft. centipede was displayed. It was quite an interesting presentation!

SRC Teen Craft

On Thursday June 13, 2013, Summer Reading Club and the Ysleta Branch presented the Glass Jar Craft. Our local area teens assembled together and created some beautiful art. Brightly colored paper, glue, glass jars and some imagination were the ingredients for this fun filled craft!

SRC – Amazing Adrian

The Summer Reading Club continues with Amazing Adrian! On Wednesday June 12, 2013 Adrian D’Marco performed his magic at the Ysleta Branch Library. He entertained our patrons with a memorable presentation that inspire and educate about the wonders of reading.  Truly a fun magic show!

Summer Reading Club Kickoff!

Saturday June 8, 2013 was the commencement of the Summer Reading Club for 2013 here at YS. The SRC is open to children, teens and adults and is purposed to provide fun and an interactive way for families to read together. There was a Ready to Read storytime for the kids and an Origami class for all ages where they created a crane and other small creatures.
