Alex the Madagascar Lion at YS!

On July 10, 2013 Alex the Lion took time away from the zoo to visit the Ysleta Branch Library for the Summer Reading Club. Alex would rather dance instead of hunt, and dance he did. Along with our patrons, they were bopping to the Madagascar song “I Like To Move It”. A young 12 year old broke out into a break dance routine that had everyone amused. Alex, parents and the kids participated in the play The Mightiest by Keiko Kasza, where they donned, hats and masks. Who’s the mightiest, the Lion, the Elephant, the Bear, or George the Giant? The kids also made crowns for craft time and posed with Alex for a photo shoot. Such good times here at YS!

CREEPY CRAWLY STORY TIME!

Do you like bugs?  Do you like stories?  Do you like bugs, and stories, and crafts?  If so, join us here at the Sergio Troncoso Public Library for a very special creepy-crawly story time presented by the El Paso Zoo ! Like all library story times, this event is free and open to the public!  On Wednesday, October 9 at 2 pm here at the Sergio Troncoso Public Library, there will be  BUGS! Author visit - Sergio Troncoso!

Join us this  Tuesday ,  November 5th  at  5 pm , as we welcome author and educator Sergio Troncoso at the Sergio Troncoso Branch Library . In 2014, the El Paso City Council voted unanimously to rename the Ysleta Branch Public Library in honor of Sergio Troncoso.  Now you can visit with Mr. Troncoso as he reads from his latest book A Peculiar Kind of Immigrant's Son .
